History
PACAC was established in 1975 when the Ontario Heritage Act came into effect. Peterborough at that time was undergoing development pressures throughout the downtown and some buildings were threatened. Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational School and the Market Hall were just two historic buildings on the chopping block. Through the efforts of interested citizens and also with PACAC’s vocal support, these and others were saved. Some, however, were not.
